Eyjafjallajokull’s eruption lit up the Icelandic sky. It was awesome spectacle, but the ash that followed made a global mess
One more reminder of how vulnerable our world remains.

20/3/2010 started, 14th April strange eruption exploded through a glacial ice cap, throwing a vast plump of volcanic ash around 7 miles (11 km) into atmosphere high enough too carry thousand of miles

World losses

*Ash ruin the jet engines of aircraft.

*Air travel in Europe ground to halt.

*100,000 fights cancelled

*Thousand of passengers stranded at airports

*1/3 industry down, It was the worst global travel disruption since world war 2nd.

*British air wing losing $30 million per day

*TUI travel Europe biggest tour operators was losing $9 million per day.

*100,000 customers marooned.

*Kenyan farmers losing $2million per day, unable to supply flowers

*Transport of bone marrow to be implanted within 72 hrs of harvesting delayed and all cancer patients suffered.

When EJYAFJALLAJOKULL last erupted, beginning in1821, it continues to do so occasionally for two years.
This sort of eruption is one that’s probably going to be on and off for a while.
